Designed for use with right angle grinders, flap discs are ideal for high production grinding, blending, deburring, and finishing. Flap discs perform well on a wide variety of materials including wood, ferrous and nonferrous metals, and stainless steels. Type 29 conical shape wheels are the best choice for aggressive stock removal. Conical flap discs have angled flaps and may be used on both contours and edge work. The angle provides greater surface contact for stock removal on flat surfaces. The best choice when speed and stock removal are primary considerations.

Flap discs are versatile grinding and finishing tools, consisting of three main components: a backing plate, adhesive, and abrasive cloth flaps
The rectangular flaps are overlapped and glued to the backing plate
Aluminum oxide discs are the standard, DIY flap disc and are identified by their brown color abrasive
All flap discs are trimmable as the edge is worn down
