Best for puppies that are up on their feet and lapping from a bowl (4-5 weeks old). EASY TO DIGEST - Our powder is made with natural milk protein, so it's highly digestible. Once mixed, it should be lapped from a bowl, not fed from a bottle. Use until ready to transition to solid food (7-8 weeks old).

EASY-TO-MIX FORMULA - Whisk or shake 1 part powdered Esbilac 2nd Step into 2 parts warm water. Do not mix more than can be consumed in 24 hours. Do not use a blender to mix. Puppies that are up on their feet and lapping from a bowl may be introduced to Esbilac 2nd Step. Begin by offering it as a thin gruel. Determine the amount of Esbilac 2nd Step powder to be fed to the puppy at each feeding using the Feeding Guideline. Reconstitute powder by using 3 parts (a part is any measuring device, i.e. teaspoon, tablespoon or cup) liquid Esbilac or water to 1 part powder for the first few days. Offer only small amounts and remove the uneaten portion after no more than 20 minutes. Puppies should be fed three times per day. Weigh the puppies at least once a week to monitor weight gain and adequacy of feeding. As puppies grow decrease the amount of water mixed with powder until weaning food is an oatmeal consistency. DIRECTIONS FOR FEEDING: Esbilac 2nd Step should be lapped out of a bowl and not fed from a bottle. Esbilac 2nd Step has been formulated to meet the nutritional needs of young puppies being weaned from mother or bottle fed puppies progressing to solid foods. For best results, the product should be mixed with ready-to-feed liquid Esbilac or reconstituted powder Esbilac to give the consistency necessary to get good food consumption. If Esbilac is not available, water may be used. Fresh, clean water should always be available for drinking. It is recommended that Esbilac 2nd Step be fed until puppies are 7 or 8 weeks old when they can be fed commercial puppy or dog food as desired. All changes in diet should be made gradually over a period of one week.

- Medium puppies (3 lb. average) 4 tablespoons powder
- Large puppies (5 lb. average) 5 tablespoons powder
- More or less food may be needed by individual puppies to satisfy their food requirements for optimum performance.
- STORAGE - Powder does not needs to be refrigerated but should be kept covered and stored in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to excessive temperature.
