Beet pulp is the fibrous portion of the sugar beet left after the sugar and liquid has been removed. While others add fillers to their beet pulp shreds, Unbeetable Feeds does not - that provides better nutrition than our competitors' products while also saving you money. Most horses can be fed 25-50% of their ration as beet pulp. While some veterinarians suggest soaking beet pulp shreds in order to improve hydration, most say it is not necessary to soak beet pulp pellets prior to feeding. Please consult your nutritionist for uses specific to your animal(s). Beet pulp shreds are frequently used to get show animals ready to look their best.

If 2% of a typical horse's weight should be fed each day, a 1100 pound horse needs 22 pounds of feed per day. At least 25% of this -- 5.5 pounds -- can be beet pulp. Shreds can be fed all at once or split up between a morning or evening feeding. They can be fed alone or mixed with other feeds. Some nutritionists recommend soaking beet pulp pellets at least 30 minutes prior to feeding. Dried beet pulp will remain feedable for at least one year so long as they are kept dry.
